Nadella is an Indian by birth and belongs to the city of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He was born in 1967 and has been associated with Microsoft since 1992. Nadella received his higher education from the US and did a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee as well as Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. According to people familiar with the company affairs, Satya Nadella is soon likely to replace Steve Ballmer as the new CEO of Microsoft. It’s being said that’s he’s well ahead of two other shortlisted candidates – Tony Bates and Stephen Elop. He’s being seen as the most suitable candidate because he is familiar with the company’s internal affairs as a result of his 23 years of experience at Microsoft. The appointment of Nadella as new CEO of Microsoft is expected to receive mixed reactions from the outside world. While the company has enterprise-focussed products such as MS Office, Bing and Azure, at the same time it has faced some difficult times since the launch of Windows 8 and Windows Phone. Would it be a tough time for Nadella or will he be able to turn the company around?
