The India Meteorological Department on Tuesday (IMD) has issued an orange Hyderabad weather alert (heavy to very heavy rain). Hyderabad weather is becoming unpredictable and several parts of the city are expected to be completely drenched in intense spells of rain. The department has alerted the residents about localised flooding due to intense rainfall across isolated areas of the state. IMD has also issued a Hyderabad weather alert forecasting thunderstorms, along with lightning and winds. Hyderabad recorded the highest maximum temperature of 32.3 degrees Celsius at Adilabad, Telangana on Tuesday. The weather department also recorded 12 to 20 centimetres of very heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours in several isolated places such as Khammam, Mahabubabad, B.Kothagudem. Hyderabad received 82 cm of rainfall during the period. Only a few localities witnessed less than 10 centimetres of rainfall, which itself is an indication of heavy rains by city standards. Hyderabad weather conditions have forced the Government to take drastic measures to control the rising water level. Poor stormwater drainage facilities have led the city to dip in dirty water. some colonies have also been a witness to floods caused by heavy rains in Hyderabad. Officials are also kept on tenterhooks with rising levels of lakes. With the threat imminent of rising water in Ramanthapur Pedda Cheruvu and the specter of inundation looming large, GHMC officials are now dependant on pumps to de-water the Saroornagar Lake. Officials are taking all necessary measures to fight the wrath of heavy rainfall in Hyderabad and have even evacuated a few colonies and sheltered the residents in community halls. The City of Nawabs is under the gruesome attack with heavy rainfalls collapsing infrastructure. some parts of the city, including Shankar Nagar in Amberpet, Jhatpat Nagar in Chanchalguda, Adikmet, and Dhoolpet areas witnessed crumbling walls and structures. The weather department has issued a warning for intense Hyderabad weather that will see localized flooding due to heavy rainfall across isolated areas of the state.
